Isn't it absurd that anyone can now get into the terminal right up to the gates with an easily printed "boarding pass" and a matching ID.

OK, so they x-ray and screen your luggage and body. But anybody can get in. On the other hand anybody can buy a real boarding pass and get in.

So why even bother to check them at security? They are only really needed to make sure you paid for the flight and get the right seat.
