Prior to OLCI, when one had to check in at Flagship Checkin for that flight, I can't recall it being too crowded at that time in the morning, YET, with this last 7:55 LHR-ORD flight I was just on, as I strolled past there were two queues stretching just beyond the doors/into the outside.

YMMV, but IIRC, if I can avoid checking in a bag, I avoid it, especially now w/ OCLI. And, at the other end, when I land in ORD, I like not having to wait for those bags.

I should have been clearer on my times:
6:30am--getting off of bus at Heathrow Central Bus Station
7:00am---sitting down to breakfast in BA's F Dining room.

I wouldn't arrive later than 6:30am, "just in case" Fast Track isn't so fast, etc.
