nalle, how much traveling have you actually done?
There are 15 countries/territories in South America:
• Argentina
• Bolivia
• Brazil
• Chile
• Colombia
• Ecuador
• Falkland Islands (Islas Malvinas)
• French Guiana
• Guyana
• Paraguay
• Peru
• South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands
• Suriname
• Uruguay
• Venezuela
So with your one month plan, you are leaving 2 days to each country. If your goal is to see what South American airports or like, you'll definitely accomplish that.
You also reference a 'complete' tour which leads me to believe you want to spend more then a day or two in a country.
The question you need to ask yourself, is your goal to maximize the number of stamps you can get or actually see/enjoy a place?

One guy said it would take years to do South America unless you just want a stamp in your passport.. Well.. I don't need to live there... Seeing the seightseeing in every capital city (+ some islands) would only take 1 month, there is not that many countries in south america...
