I think that's exactly the point.

If you can book long in advance, the T class cash fare for WT+ is likely to be less than the cheapest MFUable WT fare (H class). So there's really no point paying for an H class fare and then spending points MFUing to WT+ - you might as well spend less money and buy the T class fare and keep the miles.

But if you are booking at short notice, you won't be able to get a T class or an E class fare, because ex-UK they're 21d AP. So if work won't buy you a full W class fare, but will buy you a YBH fare, and there is MFU availability into WT+ - then this MFU may be good value. But it's a pretty limited set of circumstances.
