Last week AT&T sent me 3 txts between 2:30am and 3:00am saying: welcome to AT&T (I've been with them, with the same number since 2006).
But not everyone has a phone with email on it. Some people could still use computers, and not bother to check it before an early morning flight.
That is very odd...AT&T is very odd in general.
