I fly VX over UA on any shared route. Though I was never a big FF (1P on UA), so didn't really get much out of MP other than E+ and a bunch of useless points that are gathering dust.

IMHO - standard VX is better than the perks I received as 1P. Some 1K's may disagree.

I also switched my transpac travel from UA to VA (V Australia). VA is pretty similar to VX in some ways (even has Red) and they codeshare and 'exchange' points. Much nicer than UA on a 12-14 hour flight.
