These elite lines are a godsend when travelling on a holiday. I saved about 1 hour at SJC on the Saturday before Christmas. The standard security line literally backed all the way up the ramp above baggage claim. The elite line was empty so I literally walked all the way to the front of the line bypassing hundreds and hundreds of people in line.

That alone is worth Gold.

And everyone is right about SEA, it is the only one NOT for Gold. I emailed about it last year and was told that since it was "busy" they could not support Gold, but it was always empty when I went through it. Since don't live in SEA any more, I haven't pestered AA about it.
