You need to look at your fare rules, which tell you in somewhat unclear terms what the rules for change fees are. There are B fares that have change fees and there are those who can be changed for nothing. Are your tickets refundable? If they are, then you may want to check and see if you could refund your fare and buy another B fare. Of course, there has to be availability of B fares and the current price has to be less than what you would pay in change fees.
Finally, you can always do the thing when you get the answer you don't like and that is hang up and call again. Good luck
Trying to find my fare rules...I can't seem to locate them. Wanna give me a hint as to where I can find them?
This is all good info by the way - my wife is preggo and we are going to try to make it home for Christmas (she'll be 33 weeks when we fly back to PEK) - was going to purchase B fares again in case we have to cancel the trip (and we are going to go for the upgrade on both legs) so we won't have to pay to rebook our flights - but if we are going to have to pay a change fee perhaps the B fare isn't the best bet (except for the absence of co-pay for upgrade...BF rocks...)
