OK, not really a case per se, but I've recently installed the ZAGG Invisible Shield on my iPad. I've been using it for a week+ now, and the overall verdict is positive.

The Invisible Shield is your basic plastic coating that goes on top of the screen. I keep my iPad safely tucked inside an Apple case, but I'm still afraid of scratching that precious screen. Not to mention that I have fairly oily skin so I'm forever getting fingerprints all over my screen which I have to wipe off with a microfibre cloth every night.

No more! The Invisible Shield has alleviated my fears of scratching and as a side benefit, it seems to be much more oleophobic than the original Apple screen. As a side benefit, the Shield is somewhat "grippy" so typing on the screen is better for me now. I didn't mind typing on my "naked" iPad but typing on a Shielded one just feels better to me now.

The downsides:

- The Invisble Shield isn't quite invisible. When the iPad is off, you'll certainly notice there's something covering the screen. But when the iPad is on, the extra coating is not terribly noticible. It's certainly not distracting in the least.
- Applying the coating is a bit tricky. At first you get massive air bubble between the Shield and the screen. It takes some effort to work out the big bubbles. Even afterward though, you'll still have many little bubbles. It takes about 2 days for everything to settle properly and get that bubble-free coating. Immediately after applying the Shield I was very tempted to take it off because of the air bubbles. but I persevered and I have to say, all is well now.
- The Shield is expensive at $30. But it's a small price to pay to save your iPad screen from potential scratches. At this point, anything that scratches my iPad will probably destroy it outright. I'm that confident about the coating.
- Like I said, the Shield is grippy which makes typing better (for me), but I admit that a naked iPad feels nice.

Overall the Invisible Shield is a good product and I'm glad that I have it installed.
