I am going to wait since it takes so long for you to start receiving miles. The bonus miles don't even kick in until you have had the account for 3-4 months. Here's a clip from their website:

When do I start earning miles for using AT&T Services?
Immediately after you enroll in the AT&T / AAdvantageŽ program. If you have a qualifying AT&T Service, you'll start earning miles today. Enrollment processing occurs concurrently and may take up to 30 days to complete.

When do I receive my bonus miles for enrolling in the AT&T / AAdvantageŽ program?

We will post your bonus miles to your American Airlines AAdvantageŽ account in five separate installments. You'll receive 1,000 bonus miles within about 10 to 12 weeks after your AT&T / AAdvantageŽ program enrollment is processed, and you'll receive another 1,000 bonus miles each month for the next four consecutive months, as long as you remain in the AT&T / AAdvantageŽ program and remain an AT&T Residential Long Distance customer.

I used AT&T for local service about 6 years ago in Rochester, NY. It was a nightmare trying to cancel it. I am still a little leary about even using them for long distance.
