Here in the club lounge now. The Grosvenor House is definitely the nicest SPG participating property in Dubai. I was upgraded from a deluxe room to a deluxe suite and had access to the lounge. The breakfast is nice and the lounge is on the top floor with a view of the palm. The staff is very well trained--in fact several employees said they get daily trainings for an hour to ensure they are able to provide the best possible service. The quality of the food was great as well. Everything I had was very good. The shuttle to the Royal Meridien was quick and convenient and the pools and beach there were very nice. Although the water in the gulf was 35 C/94 F, it was nice getting out of the water and not feeling chilled

The construction on the new tower continues. I had a suite on a lower floor facing the new building and did not notice any noise. The are still working on the top 7 floors so you can hear a bit of noise in the lounge which is directly opposite the lounge. The new tower should be open by May 2011. Should be nice as well.
