Stayed at my first aLoft at Dallas Downtown and I was more than happy with my stay, and would likely stay again. I like the laid back approach, the casual-ness, and the hotel room (Savvy Suite) felt as like my very first bachelor pad back at home.
As I like to travel without any assistance eg. prefer to move my own luggage over a bellboy, this hotel was fine with me.
The brand isn't a W where service and W/W is important, so in my view guests should adjust their expectations esp. with in room dining & service/s etc.

Most people who do not like the brand are usually unaware of the brand standard.They like the $$$$ but expect a full service (W) product.
For a quick airport stay, Aloft is ideal.Give me an Aloft anyday over a tired 4 Points or Hampton Inn.
