Since NZ flys RAR to LAX non-stop on Saturdays (NZ18), they'd love to do that leg on that flight. So maybe to AKL on a Monday or something, a couple days there and then to the Cook Islands on a Saturday, leaving the next Saturday.......
I've had luck redeeming on NZ to AKL and RAR
. It depends on the usual - time of year, flexibility, etc
Assuming your daughter is an early June bride, ANA Tool presently shows NZ availability for 2 in Business:
Sun June 5 LAX-AKL (stopover)
Fri June 10 AKL-RAR (destination)
Sat June 18 RAR-LAX
From IAD-LAX nonstop June 3 or 4 and returning June 19, only Economy is availabe now on UA; I haven't checked other FC possibilities like CO via EWR or US via PHL/CLT.
