The Expo toilets are actually ok.
Used two and I think they have squat and non-squat ones.
Of course they have water to wash hands like anywhere else.
Paper-wise, u probably should bring your own.
I dont think they stock toilet paper.

We're going to Shanghai Sept. 22-27, primarily to see the World Expo there. I'm extremely uncomfortable using public restrooms when there is no privacy. I've also heard that most Chinese restrooms are "squat" style contraptions. That and the fact (unsubstantiated) that there is usually no toilet tissue or place to wash one's hands is causing me to have second thoughts about even going. Can anyone say what he/she encountered on the Expo grounds and/or Shanghai itself? Can one pop into a hotel or restaurant to use the restrooms there without arousing suspicion? I know this is an unpleasant subject, but it's vital information to me. Thank you!!
