It's a bit selfish to be honest. By holding a seat you wont use, you're preventing AS from selling it and potentially pushing the price up to the next fare bucket, screwing someone else out of a better deal.

Just buy one and use your free same day standby if you want to switch. I'm pretty sure this is against the rules anyway.
