Yes, this was plan no. 1 and may be reconsidered; I was going to visit some dead relatives (ca. 1500) in Stoke-in-Teignhead while in the vicinity. The problem has to do with ferry timing from Plymouth. The current plan is to leave Edinburgh the morning of the 22nd (Sunday) and to be at our confirmed lodgings in Brittany Monday night. The Plymouth - Roscoff ferry leaves Monday afternoon, arriving 10 PM in Roscoff, so we'd arrive a day late.
That said, hotel bookings can be changed, Roscoff is reportedly an attractive town, and I'd have the morning in Devon to go see the stiffs. Still processing the alternatives.
