If it is a full Y ticket you will have the same right to select seats as a Silver anyway - i.e., you're free to choose any seat in advance without a fee except for exit rows in WT, the longhaul product.
I didn't know that corporate deals gave you Gold privileges regarding seating, i.e. exit rows in Y for free. Fortunately that's unlikely to be an issue with our corporate travel policy except on a very few super-short longhauls like EZE-GRU where I guess corporate policy would say Y for most staff. But as it's getting meaner each year, maybe only a matter of time - I'm just hoping my promotions keep me ahead of our very own internal moving curtain which pushes more and more people into Y (although as some will know, I don't myself do a huge amount of business travel anyhow).
