Part of this overcrowding problem could have been resolved if Delta just would have styed put in the L concourse after acquiring NW and UA getting NW's old gates. Why Delta wanted to leave a modern concourse w/ it's own skyclub which looked larger to me and move to a crappy concourse like T-2 is beyond me. I don't know the details of that one but Continental could have stayed put and UX could have expanded there. BTW, Denver has several gates also for on tarmac only boarding/unboarding. It's not just because of space, UA is trying to cut costs.
