I must say that, after initial reluctance in our e-mail conversation, the hotel has been quite accomodating after I explained my request. They now offer to upgrade us to a "Grand Executive Suite" room. While most of these are also (as we assumed) only junior suites, apparently there are a few with a sliding door, and they are offering to upgrade without extra charge to one of those. I appreciate their flexibility and will take them up on that offer.
