GOOD CATCH - I didn't catch the change in individual dimension limits when the "fit the sizer" stipulation was added. I've now updated the OP. Thanks! ^ (Strange, as the 45 linear inch limit is now moot because you can't exceed it without also exceeding one of the individual dimensions.)

I'm sorry for being such a nuisance... but I'm in the market for a new carry-on and want to make sure about all this before I purchase. In the Travel Products Forum there's a thread on TravelPro's Crew 8, and a poster there just stated that the 20x14x9 rollaboard had EXTERIOR dimensions of 20x14x9 (currently the last post on the thread): http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/trave...-crew-8-a.html. So that being the case, then the only dimension in question is the 14" width, that dstan measured at 13.5" at the bottom of the crossbar.

Do you all think that this could potentially be a dealbreaker at certain airports?
Correct. I don't think the 13.5" vs 14" measurement will ever come into play - they're looking at whether it fits length and depth-wise.
