Hmmm, I admit I am not as experienced as many on this forum, however I am currently booked outbound on YYZ-NRT-AKL and at the time of booking was going to reverse that routing back but the 25 minute connection time in NRT meant I had to stay a day in Tokyo. I ended up picking SYD:YYZ coming back in economy but am looking to change it to some other routing in business as the advice is that odds of future release of business class tickets or an upgrade on the day of travel are slim and none.

They did tell me that using YYZ-NRT-AKL I could not then add another flight from AKL to MEL or SYD due to overall distance. I also hope I am getting y codes correct, by NRT i mean Tokyo (Narita). If I have that wrong then I apologise.

I hope you are not saying that somehow Aeroplan will tell me the reservation they already gave me will not be honored.

Thanks
