Is there a way to get a cheap deal for last minute flights? Any airlines that offer discounts if you fly standby or something? Any current promotions or anything at all?

I need to get from Boston to Bogota (and back) as soon as possible, within the next 2-3 days. Schedules are flexible so I can fly standby, and I'll only be there for 2-3 days.

I really need to get there and I'm willing to pay the $1,000+ ticket price. But I'm an unemployed student, so I'd rather avoid the hit to my savings if I can.
