To the passenger, it's transparent as far as whether they are in a customs area or not when they are boarding. Even though we are on the the same team, there are some areas of the terminal designated as customs areas, such as even the walkways and jetways leading down to customs. Any of us that work in that area have to have to apply for clearance from CBP to work in those areas. We are not doing customs work per se', just doing our jobs in that designated area. Some of your folks have gotten a Customs Hologram on thier SIDA badge. This allows them to work in what is considered the secure Federal Inspection Area. This is no different than the Customs Hologram that is placed on the jaintors SIDA badge so they can clean the Federal Inspection Area, the airline employees that work the arriving flights in the Federal Inspection Area. You are not doing customs work per se'. You are not doing customs work period. This is not a secert just google "Sida badge customs hologram"
