This made for a great visual joke in "Airplane", the movie... people aboard an airplane in trouble watching an inflight movie showing airplanes blowing up...

Sometimes movies which have airplanes in peril as plot points get edited before they're shown on the airlines. The airline edit of "Speed," which climaxes at LAX with the runaway bus ramming a jetliner, was pretty incoherent.
