I'm happy that they're doing away with the stupid coffee cups rule.
I usually don't check any bags, but when I do, I always lock them. It makes me very nervous to leave my luggage unlocked (especially when I travel to Central and South America).
Perhaps the TSA could allow the following? If we OFFER to have our bags hand-searched and/or scanned right at check-in, then we can put locks on them? At least for high-risk international destinations? As far as I'm concerned it's the same idea as having items, such as high-speed film, hand-inspected at security instead of putting them through the x-ray.
