I remember not too long ago a thread in which it was stated that Medallions who are HI residents could be upgraded on flights between HI and the mainland, whereas the rest of us could not. IS THIS REALLY TRUE?

Since there is no V or X availability listed for these flights, from what bucket do these upgrades come from, if this is true?

And finally, how does a HI resident request to be placed on the list?

My daughter is a GM living in HI. She has just booked another high priced trip between HNL and the mainland, and her flights all say "Not Eligible."

Her status has primarily come from trips from HNL to points in the mainland, many of those trips have been quite pricey M and H fares. I'd like to see her status work for her, if possible.
