Thanks for the opinions so far. My issue with AA is simple. (Forgetting about the employee issue for now). Why wait until 35 minutes before flight time to cancel a flight that HAD to be cancelled due to the lack of fire equipment? Why not cancel it the day before....as was done for passengers on the Saturday and Monday flights?
By delaying the cancellation...and showing the flight as operating "on time", it made leaving on Sunday impossible....forcing me to pay for an additional night. (We won't even discuss the missed business meetings yesterday).
The part that upsets me most of all is the bogus "weather" excuse that was given.
For the poster earlier that inquired about my "believing what cabbies tell me", Anguilla is all of 16 miles long, and 3 miles wide. Trust me...the cabbies there are more "tuned in" to what is going on than anyone else.
