Difference in upgrade fare, who can explain it to me?
Wondering if you guys can explain the difference to me. We've got 2 tickets AMS-MCO booked for next september for me and my mom. On mine there is a miles+money upgrade waitlisted for the AMS-MCO flight. There has been some talking about upgrading my reservation to BF because of some healthreasons. So, I decided to have a look at the price to do that.
On my own reservation, if I try to use the "upgrade reservation" button, it'll tell me it's not possible, no availability. However, when doing the same on my moms reservation, it gives her the option of upgrading both flights for a total of €2684,-. Wondering if it was the being on the waitlist that didn't show me any options, I called the Elite Line and asked about the possibility of removing the miles and upgrading with money. Difference would be €2992,- plus a €100,- changing fee for redepositing the miles (funny, at first that fee was $50,-).
When asking about the difference between the €2992 and the €2684 offered to my mom, no explaination could be offered. Is there any reason for this difference or no rhyme or reason what so ever? There is a difference in fare paid when originally booking both tickets, but both are in the same W-fare and the difference (€22,-) doesn't explain the difference between the upgrade fares.
