"Proud to Fly American" pins revisited ... does interest remain?

It has been just over one year (the official announcement appeared in AA's "Jetwire" bulletin to employees on Dec. 4, 2001) since the introduction of the "Proud to Fly American" pins.

Being the "father" of that campaign and knowing that I still have a number of those pins left over from my initial supply, I thought I would post to see what interest, if any, remains in the pins. And I could not think of a better purpose for my 1000th post on FlyerTalk.

If there are any AA frequent flyers, who are interested in a "Proud to Fly American" pin and who have not already received one, I will be happy to mail you one if you e-mail me privately. My address is in my profile. And to those of you who already own a pin, I am curious: are you still wearing it?

Edited to say that I am truly overwhelmed by your response to this post. I have been flooded with e-mail from dozens of FTers and I am thrilled about that! However, I am uncertain that I will have enough pins to go around. Therefore, please accept my apology if I am unable to honor each request. I will do my best. And it may take me a while to send all of these out!

Happy holidays to one and all! May you enjoy safe travels.

Bill
