Like so many LHW properties le Royal Luxembourg is rather disappointing.
The place is OK but far from great. Most of the hotel is rather dated. If you go there you should definitely opt for a room in the Royal Club Wing since the standard rooms are not very luxurious and look more like a 3 or 4 star hotel. Le Royal has a very good location.
Luxembourg is a small place and there are not many luxury hotel options. I would recommend the small boutique hotel Albert 1er,
www.albertpremier.lu, or the new Sofitel Grand Ducal that offers nice views offer the valley.
It is very true that some of the properties that LHW suggests are questionable and thank you very much for your suggestion. Looks lovely.^
