Advice wanted: Flying with 7week old DD on United 747-400 Chicago To Hong Kong
My wife and I shall be flying out with our 7week old daughter from Chicago UA0895 to Hong Kong on a 15hour flight. The agent that book our seats did not secured the best seat on the 747-400, and someone had mentioned that the seat currently assigned to us Row 49D,49E do not have the latch for a suspended bassinet setup(49F, 49G does). The questions I have are:
Q1. I have a feeling that 49F, G are also occupied with bassinet request so we may not get to swap out seats with the good samaritans, so looks like we may have to deal with bassinet on the floor scenario. Will this flight run out of bassinet even if it meant to be placed on the floor of the bulkhead row?
Anyone with experience of such a long flight with infant/child in lap?
If there's a chance I'm thinking of purchasing one of those make-shift travel bed that's basically a box. Comments?
Q2. Can we still move around with the bassinet in front of us on the floor? Any picture or dimension? If yes then should I have something to prop up the bassinet?
Q3. Can we take off with our newborn secure to one of us in one of those front baby carrier (like Baby Bjorn)
Thanks in advance.
