I think the case is different. AC has the loyalty program in Canada. So a small market is combined with a single dominant player. Similar to QF in Australia which is also ruling supreme.
In the US you have a market 10-15 times bigger than Canada with many players in the market. Not one of the has a dominant position. And the niche for LH is still big enough whereas in Canada the niche is even smaller in a market which is small to start with.
