Which would be possible if First Class existed in Europe. Instead, European carriers use convertible seats and cabin dividers (yes, using curtains) to have variable Business Class seating on intra-European flights.

When are US carriers going to catch on to this idea....? Airlines can match their cabin capacities to actual demand. I've flown on BA A319's and 757's with anything from 2 rows of 5 Club Europe seats to 20 rows of 5 Club Europe seats and a 4-row Euro Traveller cabin. Much more cost effective and efficient, don't you think?
