The guide is spot on.
If departures are from 27R the parking is good. You get to hear the sheer power of the engines revving up and have good views.

The bar at the Thistle hotel further down the runway has excellent views on 27R departures. Heavies are just about airborne. It is directly opposite 09L touchdowns also. This is a rooftop terrace FYI so no fence obstructing the views. ^
