Correct. For popular seating such as a 747 UD you MUST NOT dither.

Ideally you want 2 PCs logged in side by side so you can pick your seat on one and GFs on the second.

I have logged in, as I thought, bang on T-24 and ended up with BP serial 17 and that was only an early morning Business flight in Europe.
