Buy a pair of Yak Trax to put on your boots. They improve your traction quite a bit. If you want something with more "oomph", get a pair of Stabilicers. they are a full Vibram outsole with screws in the bottom, acting as traction. You attach them to your boots with the attached velcro straps. They are used around the world at bobsled tracks when athletes do track walks....
