According to AA.com, I'm allowed 2 checked bags, 1 carry-on bag , plus 1 personal item. Has anyone been hassled recently by bringing 4 items like this? I normally check two bags and carry-on a school-type backpack, but I'd like to carry-on a small duffle bag as well and count my backpack as a personal item tomorrow CDG-DFW.

I ask b/c about 2 years ago, I was almost charged by a ticket agent at MSP b/c I tried to do something similar (computer bag instead of backpack), but she eventually let me go with a tongue lashing. Of course, this was pre-personal item days.
