Need to travel to SFO from EDI on the 17th September and back on the 24th September.

Absolutely 0 reward availability on any routing so it's a Y flight for me.

Does anyone have any preferences on the best way to do this? Is it easier to do EDI-EWR-SFO and have a break in the middle or EDI-LHR-SFO and do 1 long flight?

Also, is UA E+ the best way to do this as it's a relatively cheap way to get a few extra inches of legroom.

Your expertise would be appreciated.
