I am planning on ditching my elite status on CO mainly because I only fly them specific routes and I got silver last year because of a europe trip on CO and a couple of transcons before they joined *A. This is very relevant for govt business as they will cover Y but not F.
For what it's worth, when CO and NW elites enjoyed reciprocal benefits, NW elites could Y-up* (purchase a full Y fare and upgrade from the time of purchase, if inventory was available) on domestic CO flights just like their CO counterparts. Whenever the long-promised CO and UA reciprocity kicks in, I expect this model will be followed.
*B fares are also instant upgrade eligible.
As a perk unique to CO Platinum status, CO Platinums can also upgrade M fares from the time of booking. GSers and 1Ks will net this benefit as well when reciprocity kicks in.
