If you would like a nice treat, try the Fairmont le Manoir Richelieu in La Malbaie. It is another 45 mins or an hour to Tadoussac, IIRC, however you can get to a whale watching port in 30 mins from the hotel. The hotel has a very reasoanable evening buffet, and a camp fire with marshmallows every night at 8pm. Your girls will also love the hotel's pools. We were there last July and are returning in two weeks.

Stop in Baie St Paul on your way to or from the hotel. It's a very pleasant twon for walking around. Lots of restaurants and art galleries.
