It's not. It has never taken me more than ten seconds to get past the initial ID checker before getting on the tram. I've never had more than one or two people in front of me.
And I consistently arrive at TPA 30-35 minutes before departure, and have yet to miss a flight. Ever. And that's 100+ flights per year for the past several years.
Well, I wonder what I'm doing wrong. I started flying out of TPA in May, and have come to expect a long wait. I do fly Thursday evenings and Friday mornings. The thing is, it's a small terminal, they have to know how many people to expect Fridays between 7-7:30 for the 8am-ish flights. Aren't there only like 10 gates?
And I've seen them open up that area to the left with additional scanners, but not this morning.
