Just booked V-Australia JNB-MEL in J and for $1500 less than QF via Sydney
I know this is the QF forum but a few other questions have been posed on here.

V Australia offer direct services between the 2 cities which is quicker for me than QF and also at $1500 cheaper per J ticket as it currently stands it seems quite appealing.

Not sure what to expect but I will report back how it measures up against QF.
