Executive/Executive First is generally 3~6 times more expensive than Tango Plus in most cases and only earn a mere 25~50% COS. Until recently, C on many routes do not even earn COS.
This always seems to come up but I don't understand why.

You have the choice to fly and get <100%, 100%, 125% or 150% status miles.

For tango to tango+ you choose to pay more for status.
For tango to exec you choose to pay more for exec class.
For exec low to exec high you choose to pay more for status.

(obviously there are other things that change too but as we're talking status miles here I'll ignore them)

You can try and argue that AC should give people more status for flying exec rather than tango, but they don't have to give anything at all.
AC could argue that any fare difference between economy and exec is purely seating/service related and not status related. After all most people don't fly exec for the extra status points, they fly because they want to fly in the front!
