I am a Chairman on US Air and travel often within the states. I travel to Europe and South America but have never been to Asia.

I need to go from Richmond VA to Singapore in October, from Singapore to BKK and then from BKK back to Richmond.

I would like to buy a coach ticket and use miles to upgrade to business. Does anyone have suggestions for me? I have been looking at flights but I am unsure of really whats the best way to book. Can I use my miles on Singapore Air? How many miles to upgade? Should I book flights to Newark and fly direct to Singapore?

Any suggestions would be a big help.
