A lot of kids don't realize it and "controlling" a kid is easier said than done. Say something to the parent if you must - go for it. But the entitled and bratty attitude is found in adults much more often.
In my experience the problem kids have parents who don't try.

Worst experience I think I've had was on DL where a woman brought a cat (in carrier) on a TATL in the J cabin. The cat yowled for nearly 3/4 of the flight. Far worse than a kid screaming. Flight crew did nothing.
What could they do?
