At the end of it all it is opening up the lounge to anyone who wants to get in (provided they can get someone to take them in) and I see no difference in what started this thread other than NZ making more money.
What will be next - cutting guest passes issued with Koru and reducing fee by about $300 (average of 5x domestic and 5 X international) to allow for cost of not supplying guest passes and anyone who wants entry with a Koru pays at the gate.
as far as im awarded of air nz is trying to maximised the lounge usage i
n a wrong way.
they want to fill up every single seats in the lounge - as more people let in to the lounge the more (money/profit) they make.
they dont see the lounge should be maintain ''
exclusive'' where
comfortable and
privacy is more important than anything else otherwise food-court / gate area is fine? you can get food drinks and seats with people come and go infornt of your face.
going into an airline lounge should be an ''experience'' and air nz chose the ''bench'' them, but does it provide relaxing? or it's more of stress?
there are many many many excellent examples around asia pacific where air nz can ''learn'' from.
