I'm in the exact same boat.

My work travel is way down, but I booked a vacation TPAC flight out of BNA (double MQMs) to get me to over 110K by year end.

I have decided to NOT get Diamond (even though I could easily fit in a week end getaway to do so).

One advantage of this is that I can freely use award tickets w/o worrying about MQMs next year.

On a related question:

If I accidentally am going to go over 125K, when can I pull my SM number from a trip? Can I do so just before check-in (or even at the gate) and hope I keep an already granted upgrade? (Yes, I know I will lose all SP bennies if I do so).
