You're seeing the trade-offs: I personally use cards which earn FF miles because I can achieve travel experiences I wouldn't pay for (premium international travel tends to far exceed the cost of hotels).

Also, I think that Enterprise now participates in both the Amtrak Guest Rewards and Choice Hotels "Choice Privileges" program. If you are paying a qualifying rate with Enterprise, there's no reason to leave those points on the table.
The Choice Rewards program ended earlier this year (February) but I do take the new Amtrak credits when I rent there.
