Actually had a similar problem earlier this week. Picked up the car at LAX on Sunday afternoon, went out to dinner Sunday night then back to the hotel. Got up Monday morning to head to the meeting and the battery was dead. Fortunately for me, I was at the Hilton LAX and there's a Hertz counter in the hotel. They were able to find me a car and we were only slightly late getting to the meeting. It was then that we noticed that someone had written "DEAD BATT" on the keychain fob! Thanks for the notice! The real kicker was when returning the car to the airport, they not only charged me for gas (after I told her I filled up) but then charged me for returning an hour later, even though it was returned almost 4 hours early! Since I had the time, I went in to the office to correct the errors. Counter agent was nice enough and corrected the charges, but no offers for the inconvenience. I'm debating whether to send a note via their website. Especially since the guy behind me in line at the service counter was there because his car battery was dead as well...
