NB: to enter France you're going to need a Schengen visa or a visa waiver. As you live in the States, I assume you are an American citizen and are covered under the waiver, though it doesn't hurt to mention the fact. When it comes to airside transfers, CDG isn't anywhere as advanced as LHR, for instance.
